Carlos Mencia gets Punished for Stealing Jokes

Carlos Mencia gets Punished for Stealing Jokes

Do you like Fish Sticks? If you answered ‘Yes,’ then you are a gay fish according to the most recent episode of South Park. The premise behind the joke is that if you say it really fast, Fish Sticks sounds a lot like Fish Dicks, thus making you gayer than a rainbow trout. The joke was originally coined by South Park’s class clown, Jimmy, and later stolen and popularized by Cartman.

There were lots of great one-liners in the most recent episode of South Park, but my favorite part of the story has to be the continued ‘calling out’ of Carlos Mencia, one of the most non-funny and unoriginal comedians in history. For years he has been taking jokes from other comedians, and wrapping them up with a big ‘beaner’ bow and presenting them as his own. Basically he just takes a standard joke, adds a Mexican accent to it, and the simple minded and uninformed laugh because they are trained to laugh.  Hilarity doesn’t actually ensue.

I had been complaining about how bad he was for years because he was stealing jokes from Dave Chappelle, and it turns out that pretty much every comedian hates Mencia as well for stealing their jokes.  He also isn’t even Mexican.  He’s half German and his real name is Ned Holness!  Joe Rogan famously called him out while on stage a few years back.  I will have to track down that video and make it a YouTube classic in the near future.

The Kanye part of this is episode is pretty classic as well.  Much like the way Trey Parker portrayed Puffy in the past as a larger than life gangsta type, Kanye walks around with a crew and acts tough in this episode as he’s trying to defend the fact that he’s not into homo-beasiality.  In the end, however, he decides that he can’t tempt fate and that he is indeed a gay fish!

After this revelation we are treated to a vintage song to support the claim that is actually pretty catchy.   Nothing better than South Park’s creator, Trey Parker, making songs to support his comedy.  Between South Park and Team America (not to mention Orgasmo and Cannibal the Musical), I don’t think many people have as much comedy songwriting talent as Trey.  I am still waiting for DVDA’s first full length.

Some quality lines (all delivered by Carlos Mencia while being tortured by the Gay Fish Kanye West):

“I stole it man.  Come on man, you know what it’s like?  Being a comedian and not actually being funny?  Come on Kanye, I just take jokes and repackage them with a Mexican accent man.”

“Look at me man, I’m not funny, I steal jokes.  My dick don’t work man.  I have to piss in a plastic bag man… I’ve got no dick!”

South Park – Farts are Funny, Quiefs are GROSS

April 3rd, 2009 | Posted by Jeff

I LOVE the fact that you can now view South Park clips online and embed them on sites.  One of the best developments since some genius invented Funny Videos back in the early 1900′s.   Now I already talked late last week about how genius South Park is and how they always reinvent themselves, stay relevant with modern times (like the recent south park bailout episode) and continue to push out a quality product, even as they enter their 13th season.

Please do not Queef. Thanks.

Please do not Queef. Thanks.

In this clip, the town debates with juvenile fury, the difference between farts and queefs.  The menfolk content that farts are funny and acceptable, because men have always joked about farts, and in fact, have named their farts.  Mens farts include:

  • The Squeaker
  • The Fog Horn
  • The Don’t be Scared
  • The Chinese Firecracker

Apparently, Women name their queefs too.  For instance:

  • The Sneezing Unicorn
  • The Resuscitator
  • The Road Warrior

Let’s just say that we get audio demonstrations of all of these, both male and female.  NAAAASSSTTYYY!!  I have no idea how South Park gets away with putting this stuff on TV; they must have naked pictures of the FCC chairman or something.

Some funny lines from the video:

“Last week at our school, a girl queefed right into a friends face.  We are here to tell you it’s not a joke” – Cartman

“On television, us children are seeing more and more graphic queefing” – Stan

“Men have always joked about farts, and we in fact name our farts” – Randy Marsh

For the record, I have never named the sound of one of my farts.   Now the smell of farts, that’s another story.  You never want to smell a Brandon and a Joe R always smells the same.

South Park – How they Arrived at the Bailout

March 27th, 2009 | Posted by Jeff

South Park Bailout Mat

South Park Bailout Mat

Gotta hand it to South Park for always being relevant, no matter what the topic.   I caught this video last night on a finance/economics blog of all places, and I have to say I laughed out loud.  This video premise kind of reminds me of a previous South Park episode where they make fun of Family Guy, saying that all ideas for the show come from Manatees with Idea Balls.

Similarly, in this episode, bailout decisions are made from where an object falls on the mat of bailout options (similar to Tom Smykowski‘s Jump to Conclusions Mat).  In order to choose what to do with an ailing bank or insurance company, the government (in this case white wig wearing bureaucrats out of the 1700′s) cuts off the head of a chicken, and another person plays a Kazoo.  The chicken runs around with its head cut off, and wherever it lands, we have our solution!  Instant Bailout!  I like the other options as well:

Let Fail

Try Again

$90 Trillion

$1 Billion

Indian Casinos

Tax The Rich

Telethon

Print Money

Given those options, I actually think that maybe South Park is right and we need a bailout!

Thanks to Calculated Risk for the video
